Adjustment of the filter configuration to the customer system
The decision to outsource a task or service should be taken not only in terms of cost, but also by assessing the competitive differentiation and strategic importance. Characteristics for describing the costs are the specificity of the task and the embossing by unit cost degression, i.e. decreasing costs with increasing number of tasks or performance. Of strategic importance are, in particular, those tasks and services which are difficult to imitate by competing companies. Figure 4 compares the strategic importance and cost advantages in order to arrive at fundamentally valid statements regarding the usefulness of outsourcing for certain IT tasks and services. In addition to this, as already discussed by Recommendation [A2], it is then worthwhile to establish a catalogue of criteria for evaluating and looking in detail at certain characteristics of the application or services. An exemplary catalogue of criteria can be found in chapter 9.6 of the Master thesis. In order to solve the challenges, it is necessary to develop a suitable catalogue of criteria to evaluate the feasibility or suitability of certain applications for certain service forms. The service catalogue must be structured in such a way that the criteria, which cannot be answered clearly, can be identified and subjected to continuous consideration. The catalogue of criteria cannot generally provide a 100% decision, but only a decision aid and an absolute must-criteria.
How are SAP modules and SAP Basis related?
In more complex system environments, thousands, if not tens of thousands, of SAP jobs can run per day. Their interdependencies create a high level of complexity. If administrators or admin teams want to maintain an overview, they have to rely on meaningful monitoring. It must be clear at all times which jobs are running and which are not, in order to ensure proper SAP operation. Ideally, one is informed of critical errors by e-mail or SMS. The trend towards internationalization, outsourcing and mixed operation with on-premise and on-demand systems means that SAP landscapes are often widely distributed. This makes monitoring more difficult and, at the same time, clarity must be maintained. Integrating SAP job management and job requests into a central system, such as SAP Solution Manager, therefore makes sense and is useful for supplementing IT service processes in a meaningful way and accelerating process flows.
The task of SAP Basis is to ensure trouble-free, interoperable and portable (mobile) operation of SAP systems in the company. Interoperable means that independent and heterogeneous IT systems can work together.
Some missing SAP basic functions in the standard are supplied by the PC application "Shortcut for SAP Systems".
After that, these roles should be exported from the system (for example, to an Excel file) and then submitted to the supervisor so that he can decide whether the role assignment is appropriate or not.
