Migrations occur, for example, when a customer decides to host his systems at Rödl & Partner and the SAP systems therefore have to be migrated from in-house operation or from the original hosting provider to our data center. Also in the course of a conversion to S/4HANA, the data is migrated from the original database type to an SAP HANA database. This is also done with the tool "SUM" (Software Update Manager) via the so-called "DMO" (Database Migration Option).
The analysis shows you in the form of a traffic light output (red-yellow-green) whether the respective settings are configured correctly. In addition, you can also view the detailed values of the respective settings.
Documentation
The SAP Basis & Technology department deals intensively with SAP technologies and their application. The possibilities and limits are investigated and corresponding specifications and tools are developed in order to use the technologies profitably. The results and findings are made available to the other alogis areas and implemented in real-life customer projects.
In every company with an SAP system, there is someone who is responsible for the SAP Basis. This person ensures the trouble-free operation of the SAP system. He or she accompanies maintenance work and intervenes in special situations, such as poor performance. Even for companies that hand over the operation of Basis to an external service provider, there are often still tasks from the user and authorization management environment at this point.
"Shortcut for SAP Systems" is a PC application that simplifies or even facilitates many activities in the SAP base.
SAP's client concept enables a SAP system to be split into several logical sub-systems - clients.
To make client-specific customizing changes, however, you must select the "Client settings" button and double-click to jump to the relevant client setting.
