In addition to the consultants working in the individual SAP modules, there is a subarea here that is not directly apparent to many and whose activities seem to be quite opaque: SAP Basis. The smooth operation of SAP systems as the heart of many companies is ensured by the work of SAP Basis administrators.
SAP administrators can basically be found wherever SAP systems are used. These are now numerous industries and departments of companies. SAP systems can be found in accounting, costing, activity-based costing and controlling. In all these areas, they take care of the smooth functioning and development, thus helping the company to make internal processes more efficient and consequently save costs and resources.
SAP HANA Cloud Platform (SAP HCP)
Database layer: All of a company's data is stored in the database, which is located on a database server. Application programs pull the data they need from the database. This data can consist of data tables, applications or system control tables. In addition, the database also takes new information from users and backs it up.
From a purely technical point of view, each generated authorization role contains a profile from which a user receives the actual authorization objects and authorization characteristics. If this profile is outdated or not assigned at all, the user will not have all the authorization objects contained in the authorization role. Incidentally, the problem arises particularly frequently after role transports: If an authorization role is changed in the development system and then transported to the production system, the current profile is not automatically assigned to the users with the respective role. A user comparison must therefore be performed here.
Tools such as "Shortcut for SAP Systems" are extremely useful in basic administration.
FCS Support Package An FCS Support Package (FFD) brings an FCS system to the generally available release level (GA level) before other support packages can be inserted.
