This is key to leveraging SAP's simplification plan. Since the release of SAP HANA, SAP has worked to simplify the system.
The tasks of a company's own SAP Basis department are currently undergoing enormous change, as SAP is also increasingly relying on cloud services. Strategically, completely self-hosted SAP systems are becoming rarer and the proportion of customers using an SAP system from the cloud is increasing. The new roles of SAP Basis employees tend to be "enablers" and coordinators between the cloud provider and internal IT and the business departments. Until that time comes, companies can also rely on external service providers to offer expert know-how as well as operational support for the transition period.

There are the following reasons that may lead to the termination of this step: TP_INTERFACE_FAILURE: Unable to call tp interface. TP_FAILURE: The tp programme could not be run. For more information, see the SLOG or ALOG log file. COMMAND_FILE_IMPORT_FAILURE: Unable to import the Object List to one or more Support Packages. The protocol of the Commandfile import contains the cause of the error. OBJECTS_LOCKED_? This step checks to see if there are any objects left in unreleased jobs that will be overwritten during the commit.
SAP lockout issues: Call the SM12 transaction and make sure that there are no programmes named RDDIMPDP. For more information, see Note 11677. ADDON_CONFLICTS_? This step checks to see if there are conflicts between objects in the queue and add-ons installed. If there are such conflicts, SPAM will cancel and prompt you to play the appropriate Conflict Resolution Transports (CRTs).

This is done by using the STMS -> Import Overview (F5) to display the import queues.
