The digitization of businesses and the emergence of new technologies mean that admins have to adapt to constantly changing conditions. Currently, the following trends (which are becoming more and more evident in the market) can be mentioned:

Confidential information in print jobs is not protected against unauthorised disclosure. (Strictly) sensitive print jobs can be read unauthorised or redirected to external printers and printed out. Print jobs are unprotected unless additional SAP access permissions are enabled to protect print output. The print jobs are multi-tenant, which means that the authorisation award should also be well thought through at the point.

The database layer is used to store all company data and consists of the database management system (DBMS) and the data itself. In every NetWeaver system there is a database server on which the SAP database is located. It provides all other applications with the necessary data. The data is not only data tables, but also applications, system control tables and user data. All basic components ensure that the user has fast and reliable access to this data.
We can say that Basis is the operating system for SAP applications and ABAP. Basis provides services such as communication with the operating system, database communication, memory management, application data collection at runtime, web requests, business data exchange, etc.
Some missing SAP basic functions in the standard are supplied by the PC application "Shortcut for SAP Systems".
