How to analyze roles and authorizations in the SAP system

A simple example of how to play this behaviour without an upgrade scenario is changing the role menu. Delete a transaction from a test role and remix that role. You are aware that certain authorization objects have now been modified and others have even been completely removed, but can't all changes at the value level be replicated? Thanks to new features, this uncertainty is now over.
Due to the complexity of an SAP® authorization concept, it is necessary that all essential aspects are set down in a written documented authorization concept. This should describe the essential processes, but also how to handle the assignment of authorizations via roles. In particular, the nomenclature of specially created roles must be clearly defined. It should therefore be checked whether all changes since the last audit have been documented in the written authorization concept. After all, this document serves the auditor as a template for the so-called target/actual comparison. This means that the auditor compares the document with the actual status in the SAP® system for the main topics relevant to the audit. Any discrepancy can lead to a finding that must be avoided.
Do the permissions for a self-developed UI component for the SAP CRM Web Client always have to be maintained manually? Not necessarily - if you define them as suggested values for external services. If you have developed your own UI components in the Customer Name Room in SAP CRM and you want to authorise them via the default process, i.e. create a role menu for a PFCG role using the CRMD_UI_ROLE_PREPARE report, you must do some preliminary work. When you run the report, you will notice that the external services for your own developments are not present and therefore do not appear in the role menu. The only way to qualify your UI components is to manually maintain the UIU_COMP authorization object. However, you can maintain your own UI components as external services with suggestion values in the SU24 transaction and take advantage of this information in PFCG role maintenance.
Assigning a role for a limited period of time is done in seconds with "Shortcut for SAP systems" and allows you to quickly continue your go-live.
If the use of an authorization concept is to be fully successful on this scale, the use of an authorization tool is unavoidable.
Structural authorizations should therefore only be used together with general authorizations.
