Object S_BTCH_ADM (batch administration authorization)
For the entries in the SPTH table, note that the application defines whether a file is accessed with or without the path. For example, the related transactions ST11 (error log files) and AL11 (SAP directories) behave differently. While ST11 opens almost all files without a path (they are in the DIR_HOME directory anyway), AL11 basically uses fully specified file names with a path. An entry in the SPTH table with PATH = / is therefore misleading. It specifies that the defined access restrictions apply to all files specified by path. However, this only applies to applications that access files using a specified path. However, applications that access files without a path are not restricted; Files in the DIR_HOME directory may be excluded.

The first two problems can be solved by inserting the correction from SAP Note 1614407. The profile data will not be added to the bill of materials at the time of the roll recording but only when the transport order is released. This ensures consistency between the role's permission data and its profile data. The shared transport job also contains the complete history of changes to the profiles and permissions, so that obsolete data can also be deleted in the target systems.
Security in development systems
Native or analytical tiles: These tiles work exclusively in the FIORI interface and are adapted to the new technology. Here, for example, push messages are displayed on the tile, or key figures, diagrams, etc. are displayed, which can then be processed directly with a click. These tiles do not have direct GUI access, or cannot be used directly in the GUI environment. As mentioned above, access to these tiles is provided in a so-called front-end system via corresponding catalogs and groups. However, the underlying conceptual permissions (who is allowed to do what within the functionality of the tile) follows the same processes as in the "old world" for transaction access. The tile in the front-end needs here corresponding dependent distinctive authorizations (keyword: SU24 adjustment). In the back-end system, then again - analogous to the "old" world - about a role, which is built in the profile generator and maintained on object and field level, or set. Of course, topics such as updating internal and third-party tools, integrating cloud solutions, modern hybrid infrastructures, defining and operating ongoing dynamic changes, etc. must also be taken into account here.

In 2020, there were 82,761 cases of computer fraud in Germany. Five years earlier, the number of cases was significantly lower - 23,562 cases - and have steadily increased from then on. The smaller the group of people with access, the smaller the risk of data falling into the wrong hands. Efficient and well thought-out authorization management plays a key role in minimizing risk and is a good way of protecting against unauthorized access, data misuse and industrial espionage. Without a coherent, well thought-out concept, the regulation of accesses and authorizations for the users or key users of an SAP system is a serious security vulnerability.

During go-live, the assignment of necessary authorizations is particularly time-critical. The "Shortcut for SAP systems" application provides functions for this purpose, so that the go-live does not get bogged down because of missing authorizations.

Part (the responsible area) of it is the control and analysis of costs.

The role contains the authorization data and the logon menu of the users.
